    That was my previous hobby.
I raced at the sand drag track and did the hill climbs for years.
Still have several trophies from the hill climbs.

It got so crowded that you could never just go up there and get on the dunes.
Had to wait for hours in a line that went for a mile down the road.
When they started the voucher system that killed it for me.

I spend alot of time at the track, do you remember the old owner of the track, Frank Paff? I am good friends with his son. he still runs his rail.

the dunes are not nearly as busy as they used to be. and I have friends that live there get vouchers for me, so that's no big deal. makes it nice and easy

Unchained, were you around there in the early 80's? A friend of mine used to sand drag his bronze colored 69 GMC Blazer with a built 396 and polished tunnel ram. It's name was: "Sand Crab" It had a white laced leather interior including the roll bar. Running four terra tires. It was a beautiful "hot rod" magazine truck. I have another friend that built a 4X4 orange school bus that stills runs up there, as far as I know.

looking at those pipes it doesent look like it would meet decibel limits. I thought they had restrictions. i have a banshee and never brought it there because of that.

just put sparkeys on your pipes, you shouldn't get hassled, if its louder than most banshees and you have a pickup, you can just leave it in the back until you get it out there.
