John there are a couple camp grounds in the area, and at brower park there is a channel that boats pull into and park overnite and people do stay in them. I think hotels are only a few miles north down 131.

Brower is a Mecosta County park, not a state park, so they have their own set of rules. Biggest one being that they stop taking reservations for sites after Labor Day, so for the weekend of Hot Boat, it's first come first served... People do stay on the boats, but you cannot park a truck and trailer over night unless you have a campsite and put the trailer on the campsite. Hotels are in Big Rapids- 10 miles up 131.

They have a map on the website of how to get there. Not many maps of the river available. Just stay to the outside of the turns or follow someone else. Don't go past the tall 131 overpass at the north end of the river (not to be confused with Davis Bridge where River Ridge is)- lots of prop-munching concrete and stumps up that way.

So what's the plan? I heard that Saturday is Haas memorial day, and Sunday is boating at Brower. Not sure if I can make either unless I can manage to juggle some work stuff.

What have others heard? Anyone want to take leadership on this?

Some of us are going to Camp at Brower for Thurs-Fri, then drive to Johns on Saturday as a group. Then back to Brower for Sat-Sun.
