Why would Tony have to worry about a 90 mph (I'm being generous) fishing boat. I have to laugh..........this guy can afford a $300.00 camera, but no kill switch lanyard or any kind of life jacket. IDIOT! One of these days he's gonna run into one of those pontoon boat while he's effin' with that stupid trim button. Jocko

    OK Guys.

I can assure you this is a great place to run the boats. I grew-up on Secord lake and have a hoist on the river for my boat. My parents are retired and live there. Please run your baffle's and not your 'yoomies.' The resvoiur runs north from the main dam and has a few longer canals, totaling about 18 miles of boating. Only one spot that you need to be aware of about 1 1/2 mile north of the dam. A few stumps stick-out of the water on your right that you can easily see. Stay to the left 2/3 of the river for the 100 yards and that is about it for 18 miles.

    Info:
Lost Arrow Resort 989-345-7774 is a resort on the river about 6 miles up river from the dam. Great place to stay, with restaurant, bar, etc.

You can put your boat in at the Lakeshore marina, 4069 Lakeshore Drive. The store owner said the club can use this ramp and launch for free, just buy your adult beverage, chips, etc. from the general store.

You can also launch your boat at Secord Lake Marina, which is next to the dam. The owners Scot Gratup and Kim Frank, both have speedboats and will accomidate the club members.

You can also launch the boat off of M-30 public boat launch for free. This is a short drive drom the Smallwood meet (also in Gladwin) and club members can stay in the same resort / hotels they stayed at for past Smallwood boat meets.

I am open to what ever folks want to do. I can give suggestions about where to meet or we could all get together at a certain time on Saturday for a 'club run' up the river. Couple different sandy areas we could 'base from' as a group. Certainly this is a great place to run your speed boats! My favorite.
