Default how can we make every meet like wamplers...

The last Wamplers meet was awesome! Turnout was HUGE!

My question is...How can we make every meet like the last Wamplers?

Weather being the most important. However, It can still be fun even if it rains.

    Any ideas? Lets hear 'em!

Get gas back to 1.50 a gallon. I like to go places where you can get in the boat and go somewhere, here in Oscoda, Secord was fun but lakes like Wamplers have 0 appeal for me other than the turn out.

I think it has something to do with being "The last meet of the year", but I agree, I'd like to see everyone at every meet! We still have fun even if it's a small turn out! Got some ideas? Throw it out there.

My limitation is my tow vehicle. It has a Th350 3 speed, 60mph is about all I'll do before it really starts sucking gas. Maybe once I get a good overdrive transmission built it'll be less of a problem. A 2 hr radius from my house is about my limit to get there and back on one tank.

Has anyone ever thought about having a meet on a Sunday? I work Saturdays which I am sure a lot of others do. All I can do is dream and look at the pictures.

I agree with HST. I want to do some boating when I drive for hours to get to a place.

I spent 2 1/2 hrs each way to get to Wamplers and it was great seeing everyone again but the amount of boating time was minimal.
I can only sit in one place for so long. A.D.D. here.

Adam(blownhallet) is kinda right, its a money issue with just about everyone i know. Weather it be gas, the boat, lodging or the law. And as for the guys who want to run there boats long distance, thats great but lets face it most of these boats have small tanks and suck gas quick. So thats a bit hard for everyone, but dont get me wrong, it is a great option to have. Just my 2 cents but i think if we had meets catered and some kind of "thing" going on at these meets other then hangin out on shore (not theres nothing wrong with that cuz that is one of the best parts of this deal) like speed runs, contests, photo shoots, T-shirt sales, charitable events, festivals and things like that would draw a few more guys then normal. I feel for the guys who didnt make the Charlivoix meet cuz there wasnt many of us but it was amazing up there, we had a blast and the festival was great and the town was more then welcomming us with open arms. Drawing a crowed and getting our "sport" out there will help with the police a bit more. Everyone needs to pitch in on these things too, not just dump it on a few guys and complain when things dont work out. Im not saying anyone has or does that but this is a "GROUP" we really need to act like and be that. But hey im a newbie what do i know right. I have said it before and i will say it again, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GROUP OF GENTELMEN I HAVE EVER BE BLESSED TO KNOW AND BE A PART OF, its takes us all to make every meet like whamplers. I have told a few guys that Whamplers is the best meet ever and was glad to see a few guys make it that havent been before, and to hear they loved it and had a blast was even better. Well sorry for the dam book here but thats just how i feel lol....Cant wait to see everyone at the winter party, and that would be a great place to start making these meets better...

All summer things like weddings and stuff kept popping up on the days there were meets. Whamplers was a wedding for me. One of my tech's and I couldn't say no. 2010 whamplers was a good one too. Oscoda was too. Nice up there. Fun going up stream. There's always next year right! Am planing on the winter party too.

I agree that money and travel distances are the biggest issues to having more turn-out. A larger population live downstate therefore many end up at wamplers - centrally located. I went to the Otsego Lake and Charlivoix meets at the beginning of the year - great weather, great water, beautiful beaches, etc. but only a couple boats at Otsego and about 5 at Charlivoix. Long way to drive for most folks, just as I don't make some of the meets downstate living in Gaylord! I could not make the end of year Wamplers because I was picking-up a new motor 10/8 for the boat.

I sure had a blast this year and will try to attend the winter party, and bring along my buddy Brian Gibson from Secord Lake as well. Maybe we should have the winter party at Sullivans (Gladwin), that way we are supporting a vender / business owner with our party....?

OMG!! what a bunch of pussies!!

We have 7 long azz months before we can break out the boats again. Those of us who have season "scars" to fix will do so. So we spend bank to get them ready for the summer. Then the mindset is I cant afford to to run this thing?? And I hear you all, money is tight.

    Just an idea....
what if we limited our events to maybe one a month. maybe a weekend....and put effort into making it azz kickin times

every time you buy a case of beer, put 6 bucks in the cookie jar

start selling blood...you have at least 6 months

    @ Dave...leave 2 hours earlier

@Marc...winter party includes crawling....the stones would hurt my knees getting to the room
