As a youngster my family, and I boated regularly on Carter Lake, so I might have to go home for a visit. Is this limited to O/B only, are car engines allowed to compete too? The ski club has a bunch of flats that frequent the lake.

At least you know there won't be any mosquitoes around! Totally kidding....that looks like a lot of fun. More power to you guys! If I were up in that area, I'd definitely bring the Mako to come out and play. Come on down to an SLDBA race if you have the chance. We really appreciate all of the outboards that increase our boat count...great group of guys!

Its been mostly outboards up until now. There is v-drive club around Omaha with interest in racing, plus some jets, according to Aaron (drapallison). More information on another thread http://www.performanceboats.com//showthread.php?t=34532

The rules are listed on the www.umpba.org

Talked with my uncle whose a charter member of the ski club @ Carter Lake, told him of the race this summer. He said it used to be a regular event back in the 70's and 80's at the lake, and is glad to see it return.
