    Default boat insurance

who do you guys have for insurance on your boat and did you tell them the truth about what it really is? need to get something for the tx19, 502 chevy and headers. any reccomendations and how much do you pay? the wozencraft guy on here really didnt have anything when i asked him unless i lived in arizona. i was thinking of checking with geico powersports, mostly because they have their name on the side of a top fuel dragster, and whats cooler than that?

I'm still looking around for someone local for my boat too. Saw the post on here about the insurace lady, but she can only write for boats registered in the state of California... Bummer... Worse case scenerio is I have an uncle who lives in LA, but thought that may get sticky if I ever needed to file a claim.....

I dont think hes worrfied about theft. Hes worried about the dumbass that has never owned a boat befor, and is treating it like a wave runner. Then thinking it is going to turn like a waverunner, and runs you over and says (I dont know why it didnt turn) like the lake lice that they are!!!!!!

Fat chance of getting insured, just need to be proactive in watching over your machine. The Yoopers had a kid throw rocks over the bow of one of the boats. They were on the kid like stink on shit, found the responsible adult, and settled on a repair cost.

I use state farm, i just told them I guess the motor made 330 hp cause that is what production merc 454's made. This is before the turbos were put on. I have not told them about that yet. I pay about $40-45 a month.

Tunnel Jet Be careful with that. I heard that if you tell the ins guys that it has through the transome exhaust and you have headers they will not fix the boat. Then cancel the ins and keep the money you paid. I told my st farm guy what it was and showed him a pic of it, he didnt even want to touch it. Then said sf doesnt insure race boats. maybe with the new start Im about to make I can get a deal with someone else.

theyll refund your premiums and deny the claim if you misrepresent what it is and they find out. Ive seen it happen at work with cars. Im sure boats would be the same way.

Yea, the only question besides HP, was is it a flat bottom? I told them the motor was probably 330 HP but that I was not sure and no it is not a flat bottom. They asked for a picture of the boat so I rolled the cover back leaving the engine covered up still and they were fine with it. I know I need to tell them about the turbos, just would like to wait till I get back to work

I was just looking for ins. for towing it to the lake. Just think going through a intersection and some assclown t-bones the boat if they had no ins. you would be screwed. My company still would not touch it.

    That's not totally true!
State Farm inured my stv when I bought it. They insured it and made me pay 1/2 down on the six month premium.
They told me I had to bring it to the agents office as soon as I got into town from picking it up in Indiana.
I did and they cancelled the policy on the spot.
State Farm does not insure any kind of tunnel, race or air entrapment hull no matter how much or how little horse power!!!!
The girl at Worzencraft Ins. Promised me they could insure me and after a week or two of bull sh!t they said no deal cause it was a 92. Toooo old to insure for them.
So I continue to search!!!! Any ideas guys?????????
