The new rules sure will shrink the field. Looking forward to seeing this event and a few peeps I know that race there this summer.

I agree, if you have a 10 sec boatthat what class you should be in. There is alot of bad boats in (lake racer) that shouldnt be there. It kind of takes the fun out of going out and plaing if know you are going to get your ass handed to you befor you even go out there. just my two cents. lol

Its like grinding the numbers off a 540 Bow Tie Block and running Merlin Heads it not like anybody has done it.I think this will force some of these guys into the next class up.This will be a wait and see time will tell its not how much you dump into your engine it will be how well do you have it dialed in

Mc Derns I figured you would chime in here on the engine pumping the block at 2 percent or was that 3 percent

We ran that class and just about all the others over the years.

I am a fan of weighing the boats to even up the field, but the other changes are no bueno.

The only truly legal lake racer boat is Mcderns Daytona.

Things a heavy sob. If Ron let me drive it, we could pick up a few tenths.

If we had clocks, then we could run brackets.

Again, if there were clocks, than that would work. The rules are set like the way they are because there are no clocks. It seems to work pretty well, and keep things even. The top 4 boats in L.R.I. are super competitive, that races are won at the start line, rather than the finish. Who cares if you get your ass handed to you! Its a ton of fun, and cheaper to race than to park your boat! If you do get whooped, time to step your game up!

Nobody is running a 540 Bow Tie Block, or Merlin heads. Come on dude, youve seen everybodys shit. Some people are just better at this than others.

I dont get too much time to get over here much anymore. It was agreed that it would be a 3% allowance over 500ci when they pump.

Derns I never said that you ground the numbers off your block and ran Merlin heads wow feeling guilty have something on your chest ? LOL Ron you know as welll as I do had this been a issue someone would have paid to take the head off your engine to prove it.
I do have a great set of Merlin heads on my 468 and had it been up to Donnie he said he would let me run them because of the extra 100 pounds.

This was done because the amount of money and questionable hulls and engines
The guys using the Restriction plates now have to figure how make their carbs work and keep the boats closer the Restriction plates used in NASCAR only made it that the cars are closer together and no one car is running away from the pack.

Testing and tuning at the river is gonna be the biggie they also siad that weight will be added in some cases
