    Default Lakes Near Milwaukee

I'm moving to Milwaukee for work and I'm trying to see if there is any use for an 18' V drive flatty up there.

Are there any good lakes to take it on?

    Thanks for the info

lake koshganong might be cool on a calm day, if its rough you can always run the river.

I live in Kenosha and found that Silver Lake and Lake Elizabeth are two of the nicer lakes around here. A bit closer to Milwaukee would be Wind Lake which is really nice and has a great sand bar!

One thing to check out though is the Boat Drags at Blarney Island in Illinois on Thursday nights Might be a bit of a hike for you, but in my opinion a must see at least once or twice each summer.

Thanks for all of the replies! I'll but up there in September so I hope to catch the end of the season.

If you haven't figured it out already, Wisco has a lot of water. Near Milwaukee the lakes out in Waukesha County are close and fun. Okauchee and Peewaukee have nice social scenes. Pine is just beautiful. They get chopped up on weekends like anywhere else. Watch the speed and sound ordinances. They are patrolled.

For a 2 hour drive, the Wolf River north of Winneconne is a total riot in a small fast boat. Think road race course for boats, especially after they take the no-wake bouys out in late September. We used to take my Eliminator tunnel north to New London from Oshkosh, hit all the little bars, see the fall colors, and buzz the duck blinds at 80MPH. Dress like it's winter. Seriously. My wife used to wear a sleeping bag.

If you see a white and grey Hallett 210 say hi.
