    Default Best Lakes in Minnesota??

So, I'll have my boat up here in MN this summer, where are good places to go? I've been out on the St. Croix, and ofcourse Minnetonka...but Tonka's no good for jet boats. There any other good party lakes?

I've been in Minnesota for almost 20 yrs now (Cali transplant) and have been to the same places. Depending on the day (weekend vs weekday) the St. Croix river is a lot of fun. Minnetonka is fun but full of a bunch of snobby cabin cruisers or kids in daddy's rollbar boat. Plus the 40 mph speed limit just sucks. Brainerd area lakes are good. Gull lake and even better is Crosslake (and the whole Whitefish chain of lakes). There are several hangout party beaches and a couple of good bar/restaurants (The Wharf, Moonlite Bay, Zorba's).
Keep in contact with me early next summer and we can meet up somewhere. I run a 19' Cougar tunnel v-drive and a 19' Hallett v-drive. PM me and we can exchange cell #'s. (wow, that sounded effin' gay!)

You know that's a great idea. I've become involved with the UMPBA last summer (great bunch of guys) and they actually voted me on to their board. We are planning 5 races (drags) for next season and it would be great to have a scheduled race one day of a given weekend and the other day could be a low key hang out at a beach day. Once I know our scheduled race dates, I'll post them and see if we can get some fun events going. Dave

Hat power addict, I'm not to far from you in Montgomery. I am also in the drag club with Jackorace, we do some get togethers on clear lake in Gibbon, usually about 10-20 performance boats out there. It's a great lake for it with very few other boats and it's nice and long.

We have updated our website and continue to add info as we can. Feel free to shoot me a PM or check out the site http://www.umpba.org/

Hi Dave, I finally made it over here.

Cool Chet, this is good. I suppose we could use this section of the forum for now, then see how much participation (posting) occurs. Maybe we can copy / paste the race schedule w/locations as well. Dave

A friend of mine bought this little boat last year and he keeps it on the St. Croix, went out a few times. Great place to enjoy the water, with plenty of places to stop and enjoy some food, etc
