    August 10, 2013 Little Wall Lake in Jewel Iowa
    Upper Midwest Powerboat Association UMPBA Drag Races
    1 Day
    9:00 AM - Qualifying runs can be made
    11:00 AM - Drivers meeting
    12:00 PM - Races Start

    * 65 mph or less
    * Life Jacket
    * Tethered Ignition kill switch
    * Tethered Fuel kill switch if equipped w/ external fuel pump
    * DOT approved helmet
    * Battery hold-down to be solid, bolted system. No rubber straps or bungee cords
    * Steering system to be slop-free and tight. No excessive steering wheel free play.
    V-drive rudders must be tight
    Lake Racer 1
    * 66 – 75 mph
    * Life Jacket
    * Tethered Ignition kill switch
    * Tethered Fuel kill switch if equipped w/ external fuel pump
    * DOT approved helmet
    * Battery hold-down to be solid, bolted system. No rubber straps or bungee cords
    * Steering system to be slop-free and tight. No excessive steering wheel free play.
    V-drive rudders must be tight
    Lake Racer 2
    * 76 – 85 mph
    * Tethered Ignition kill switch
    * Tethered Fuel kill switch (if so equipped w/external fuel pump)
    * Life Jacket w/legs straps
    * Foot throttle's only
    * DOT approved helmet
    * Battery hold-down to be solid, bolted system. No rubber straps or bungee cords
    * Steering system to be slop-free and tight. No excessive steering wheel free play.
    V-drive rudders must be tight

    Lake Racer 3

    * 86 – 95 mph
    * Tethered Ignition kill switch
    * Tethered Fuel kill switch (if so equipped w/external fuel pump)
    * Life Jacket w/leg straps

    * DOT approved helmet

    * 106 – 115 mph

    Unlimited
    * 116 mph and faster
    * Life Jacket, Lifeline or SRP w/ leg straps

    * Ballistic shorts (lifeline, SRP or Deist)
    * Foot throttle's only
    * Helmet restraint system
    * Dot approved helmet
    * Battery hold-down to be solid, bolted system. No rubber straps or bungee cords

    V-drive rudders must be tight
    Additional Requirements
    * For all boats w/ foot throttle – A throttle return spring is required on carbs/injection unit in
    addition to integral pedal spring.
    * For V-drives a propshaft safety collar is required, mounted no more than ½ inch forward
    of propshaft log seal
    * For V-drives a rudder safety collar is required, mounted above steering quadrant bearing
    * For V-drives a propshaft cotter pin is required behind the propshaft nut

    Thanks for posting it looked like a great little race and the water looked excellent.

    I guess I'll have to try and mark my calendar and think about this one next year.

    It was a blast! I think I heard 28 boats for a turnout! Had some fast guys for sure there. I want to say the TT BBC Jet ended up taking the Unlimited class.

    Thanks for the video Quarterhorse takes time and patience to do, but fun to watch Hope to see some video from the finish line taken by mrs wicked banana. Loren 5 hydros, 7 jets, 8 flats, and the rest, well you know eggbeater.... damn fast ones! next umpba event is Albert Lea MN sept 14th on fountain lake, this is a 1000ft drag race event.
