    Angry South Dakota???

WE might end up getting a temporary transfer to Pierre SD in the next 6 months... Does anyone have anything good to say about the place?

Well, It's right on the Missouri River near Oahe Dam I think it' a nice town also the State Capitol, pretty good fishing I believe although I'm not a fisherman myself. There is a drag strip there which is almost new and the nicest one in the state. The biggest difference you will probably notice between Arizona and SD is the slower paced, layed back lifestyle here, which can be a plus or minus depending how you look at it. The city of Minneapolis has more people than the entire state of SD, we don't have very many drive by shootings around here. If you have any specific questions shoot me a pm. and I'd be glad to help out.

I am flying to Rapid on Friday morning to go see Mt. Rushmore in the winter...am I stupid or what...lol

I try to go to the Black Hills at least twice a year. We have a place in Silver City so there is always a reason to go besides Sturgis

Well, I don't know if it is a good thing but you still get directions from locals like:

Go to the big red mailbox and take a right

Go past the big yellow barn and take a quick left

follow the road until you see the old car rusted out on the left and take a right

If you see the 8 foot tall chicken you went the wrong way

I spent a couple years in Rapid City. Used to ride out to Mt. Rushmore at night. Everything's nice out there.

I've aleady decided that I'm going to leave the Boat at Powell and just fly back there every other weekend. As it stands right now, its a 50/50 split between being sent to SD and Flagstaff.... Guess which way I'm leaning?

haha...I actually liked it riding thru there. Everybody was friendly but saw a couple of strange people in bars after hours. Lets just say they were a little scary and leave it at that

There was obviously racism alive there as I was with SinCal and he was drawing quite a few stares but nobody said anything to us or him so it didn't matter much. His wife was born in Mitchell SD by the way.

Well Silver City was a little cold but the weekend was not a waste. Flew into Rapid City right as the Storm hit on Friday but it did clear up Sat.

If you are not sure where Silver City is it is right next to Lake Pactola, in fact we can walk to the lake in less than five minutes.
