    Default Minnesota Performance Boaters

How about a thread with people from each state. Post up some pictures of your ride and a little info on it, how long you have had it, what you have done to it, where ya got it, etc.

If you are from another state start a new thread and do the same thing.
Lets let everyone see whos got what and where you are at.

Myself I am from NW MN I live 3 miles from ND, a few weeks ago I found a couple guys 20 miles from me with jets, since then I have gotten together with one of them. It's a lot more fun when your not the only one. I'm up for doing some traveling, seeing some other lakes and meeting new people, and seeing other boats.

Spring Park, MN (Lake Minnteonka area)

1977 20' Campbell Tunnel. 477 BBC, Velvet drive, Champion v-drive. Got it a few months ago from Prior Lake, MN Haven't got much water time yet this year, I've been workin out some bugs, but she's finally water ready. Still needs some carb tuning. Lookin for something a little smaller and maybe a little faster though. Got a Hondo T-deck jet too, but that has since turned into a lost cause.

    Duluth, MN (Island Lake)

Boat is a 18 foot mako jet with a little small block chevy in it. I have had this boat for three or four years, and have done everything to it, except the paint and interior, which might get done this winter. I replaced the stringers, set the pump back, did the bottom, and installed/built the engine.

It will run 86 all day everyday, but has gone 90 a couple times with good air and water, on 91 octane pump gas.

Should have the e-85 conversion done sometime in the next few days.

I used to spend most of my time on Minnetonka and the St Croix, this year I had it on a lift on Lake Pokegama in Pine City.

Good lookin' boats guys. Since it's my post I should add some info.

I bought this boat off of Ebay out of Boyne City Michigan. It's a 1977 20' Hawaiian Polynesian (acording to Old Rigger) Engine this time is a 460, this time because this is the 4th one in 3 years. It's had two 460s a 429 and a 472. I have redone the floor, carpet and interior from scratch. I got rid of the fiberglass rear engine cover and made the one thats on it from 1" square tube frame covered with 1/2' plywood covered with fiberglass. It's hinged in the rear and supported with a pair of gass struts. I rewired the whole boat front to back, got rid of the jet-o-vator handle and replaced it with a Berkley trim adjust unit with a new cable. All in all its been a huge pain in the ass and if I knew then what I know now I would of left the bitch in Michigan. But it did turn out really well.

I'm from Rochester MN and I picked up my 79 23 Sleekcraft Executive from a guy up by Carlton, MN back in 2001. My god have I done everything to it. New 454 Chev built by Line Performance back in 2006, new carpet, new floor, stringers, seats, engine cover, upholstery, drive, wiring, fuel delivery, trailer brakes, wiring, lights, you get the picture. Basically everything on it has been redone except the outside of the hull.

Now it's a pretty reliable turn key boat that we love using. Not the fastest thing on the water, but still. I gps'd at 53 mph. I'm ok with it being as heavy as it is. In our little group of jetters we pretty much call it the F350 boat because we usually end up being the supply ship for the sandbar, multiple tents, canopies, chairs, kitchen sink. Just kidding on that last part, but it's about that bad.

Also have a 78 Youngblood TX 19 that a buddy was selling a couple years ago so I had to pick that up too.

    Default Hot boats MN

Hey guys is great to see some interest on cool boats in this region. I am from Fargo but grew up in the Detroit Lakes area on Lake Mellissa I dont think we ever had fewer than 3 to 5 boats at any given time. I am trying to buy a Jet boat right now and not having much luck and I am hesitant to head to cali to buy one there. It needs to be in good shape, would like a BBC but an Olds would work needs a Berkely jet and trailer. If you guys have any ideas or know of any that fit this description I am ready to buy now. I also own a house on Star Lake near Dent MN.

Thanks guys and I get this boat bought I look forward to making some noise, quietly of course
