    Default Lake Travis possibly rising

After a whole summer of record breaking drought and ALL public boat ramps on Lake Travis being closed, we got some rain finally. Lake Travis is at its lowest levels since the 1950's. Old German settlement houses are appearing in the lake along with lots of discarded cars and motorcycles, some even with their keys still in the ignition!! Imagine how the insurance company is gonna like that past claim of "stolen"!!!Last night the area upriver of Lake Travis (Austin,TX) got 8 inches of rain and the forecast is that the lake will rise around 10 feet in the next few days. We'll see what happens. Need to get the boat out and run the old gas out of the fuel tanks before winter. Wish us luck!

Was speaking with someone over at The Hollows Marina yesterday who said lake is up 11' (as of yesterday 5P). Subjectively speaking, and judging by the difference in how the Sandbar looks today -- the lake is definitely up significantly. Hoping this next weather front moving in today, and tomorrow, brings more rain NW. Good news.
