    Default why okmulgee over eufala

Got a Taylor SS looking to take down to one of these lakes when I go to Oklahoma city. Is Eufala just too rough of waters to enjoy a jet boat? What is the scence like on both lakes?

    Thanks guys!

Actually I do both lakes, Its just a short tow over to Fountain head marina.

Eufala is usually real red and nasty till the late summer. Lots of bigger boats, lots of waves. Its a cool lake for partying though. I like going when we go. Its more of a drive around lake, its huge!

Okmulgee is a spillway lake, never to high, never to low. Water's pretty clear, but it can gt crowded. Lots of friendly people, if you catch it on a decent weeknd theres several jets that hang out there. A few Bajas like me, couple of v-drives. Okmulgee is more of a hang out lake and socialize lake.

i grew up around number 9 landing seemed like that was usually a great place for my dad to run his jetboat, porum was great too,we did alot of skiing on brooken cove also, seemed to be pretty calm, then again that was thirty years ago.

Exactly, I can see a big difference in the amount of boats on the lake just in the past 10 years or so. You used to be able to go to the cut and have a good time with decent people, you had to have a boat to get there. Not now, me and the wife went to the cut memorial day 08 and it was solid kids in daddys boats, enjoying their first beer. I dont know how many fights there were, people barfing everywhere. Seems like the last few times the OHP has had to come in the cove and clear it out b/c of all the rookies that can't act right.

    haha okay.

are there beaches or sandbars to camp on at either lake?

any suggestions on where to go to launch the boat?

any special out of state fees?

Both places have state parks, Okmulgee doesnt have any sand bars or beaches really. Eufala has several beaches, #9, Rolling Oaks, The Cut, but like I said its several miles between them, across some pretty big water.

If your going to Eufala I would say launch at #9 landing, its in about the middle. the water is FREAKING NASTY right now. I live about 4 miles from Deep Fork river that dumps into the north end of the lake and its blood red and flooded, so it pretty much ruins Eufala till about mid to late July. And there is a fee to use the ramps in the parks, but i cant remember 3 bucks maybe???

Okmulgee, well theres full RV hookups and lots of tent camping, and the ramp is pretty much self explainitory. If your coming to Mulgee give us a shout.
