Default If I move to Omaha...

How far do I have to go to find a place to run my jet boat, and is the lake/river a good place for hanging out with family on the water all day?

Looking at the options for next place to work.

    Thanks!

about 1500 miles south west!!! most jets hang out at carter lake down by the airport.waters not the cleanest butt thats all there is in the omaha area. I know-lived there for 40 years. we also went to lake manawa accross the river, nice lil lake to just kick it,not very big. started to do the river our last two years there -whole diff world but addapt fast at least you can open your boat up involves drifting all day. we finally gave up and moved to vegas for lake mead and an occassional trip to havasu. have funn and boat safe

grew up in Omaha, river is right there. plenty of guys cruise up to Blair for the party scene. My twin hits Carter lake alot. he just finished racing there last week. I'll put you in touch with him if you move there.

Thanks for the info. Military needs to move me and all roads lead to Offutt AFB.
Hopefully I'll get plenty of time to travel and check things out on the water.

Thanks for the hook up Scapegoat, I'll keep that in mind when I find out what's next.

    Cheers!

mo river is what i run with my 1988 lp taylor jet ,you never run out of water like a lake, but it can get rough due to everyone buying boat's over 23 ft.

    Default Looking for a rental

It's Official, I'm headed to Omaha.

Anybody have any good leads in on some rental property or rental management?Looking to find a place in Bellveu or close to Offutt.

Bill, I hate to leave this area as there is no better place for boating than around here, not to mention the great people down here!

Bring on the cold and the corn!

Man, I spent many years at Offutt AFB standing alert with TACAMO \ E-6B aircraft.....I'm feeling for ya. I hope you've learned how to winterize your Taylor......as I'm sure you didn't have to do that while at Barksdale.

    Be safe brother!

    Winterize??? What is that??
I'm gonna have to rebuild it all I fear as this thing has soaked up all the humidity during its' stay here in LA and the first freeze is gonna hurt! gonna miss the year round boating...we have a rally going on here this weekend with about 20-25 boats showing up!

I'll be sitting alert in my new job as well, and looking forward to a new job, but am gonna miss the good water down here!

Funny you mention that Doc... I was sitting in a pub in Portsmouth VA on a Thursday night getting ready for the Nebraska vs K-State last month, and from outta now where comes a sea of folks wearing red shirts that all say "Fear the Corn"... 20 or so of them...couple with some corn cob hats....

You gotta hand it to them...they travel well and sell out year after year at their stadium....

    Cheers Doc!
