that is the lake i go to most often. it is a very clean lake, there is only one public boat launch/dock, but it is a nice one. bring cash its onaverage about 30-40$ for me to get in to the state park wich is where the public boat ramp is. there is one little cove that i know of that everyone goes and ties off and drinks some cold ones, also some cliffs in that cove to jump off of. if you leave the boat ramp and go to the right u will follow the main canal for a little while. if you keep an eye out you will see a littel cove on the left side where everyone hangs at. its hard to spot so just keep your eyes peeled, also the canal seems to fork befor you get there so stay to the left and you should have no problems getting there, also this side of the lake seems to stay alot more calm compaired to the other side where the dam is. hope yall have fun. wish i was gonna be there with yall this weekend but the ol sanger just isnt quite ready to go yet.

Cool!! Thanks for the heads up- I guess things really are bigger in Tx! 30-40 bucks! I guess I'm used to NM state parks @ $5 for a day use (40 for an annual pass!) We are really looking forward to it. We normally stay local at Brantly north of Carlsbad, and a week in Parker Az (grew up going there) but my wifes family is now in Hereford so we are looking for something within reasonable distance from everyone.
From what we have found (nothing) on the net. are there any places on the lake to stay? homes, trailers for rent? It looks like the camp ground has no hookups either. That will be one of my missions on this trip too- I'm sure the Best Western in Post is great, but a place where we could keep the boat in the water, and still get the little ones a good afternoon nap- that would be perfect!
Also everyone I have talked to seem to have a firm impression that it is mainly a fishing lake- if so, are we going to have to ignore dirty looks from the Bass boat club?

well the one thing i dont realy like about this lake is there isnt realy any houses on this lake. there is only one dock and it is the one owned by the parks. and there is a 30 min docking time limit. there is an rv park down the road from the park but it is not on the water. i realty wish there was a way to keep the boat in the water and have some time to bbq and relax but i have not found an area like that yet, yes it is quite a big fishing lake and have encountered many dirty looks from the fisherman, but they do let you run over transom headers on this lake as long as you have water injection and baffles. so this is the only reason i continue to go to this lake other than its quite clean water. all in all its not a bad lake just no beaches or anything to hang out and beach the boat or anything. i mainly make day trips to this lake because of the inability for me to stay on the water, to me that takes all the fun out of taking a couple day trip. i hope yall have a great time. lemmy know if yall have any problems, oh and the entry fee is 8$ for your boat and 8$ per person you bring in with you, this is y i say its usualy between 30-40$ for me to get in for the day.

thanks you i havent had mine very long, i had it on the water for a little while but broke a steering cable and since it was down i went ahead and pulled all the interior and put all new top end gaskets on the motor, thought i had a blown head gasket but turns out i found out the hard way that you hafta run a check valve on the water injection on the headers, so after a couple hundred dollars of gaskets and check valves im all back together and my interior should be done today or monday at the latest. good luck to you guys hope yall have a great weekend. hopefully il see yall out there sometime.il be down there on the 28th or 29th of this month.

Plans went all to hell, Bro/Sis-in-law came here with their whole clan saturday night- we got shitty on Roadrapers, hit Brantly about 10 the next morning- Both boats- the fam cruiser and the flattie- Good Times still! -
Outlaw- I got the droop and rideplate on the Advantage- seemed to help- but hard to tell with 10 people and a ton of crap. We took a quick run though without all the kids and accessories and I like it.

I have Select Milk meetings in LBK next week- I think after I'm done I will try to drive down and check it out quick. You will have to lower your standards, but we could take mine and make a "winter to do list" for it if you don't finish yours soon!

did you notice I said INTERIOR??? long story....

engine rails should be here Thursday, they missed polishing one side.

I drove down there last spring and looked around, not much to see from
    the road,

I have a list and 15 days before Labor Day Weekend
with a little luck and a few late nights my boat just might see water
    by then.

STANDARDS???? I don't have any STANDARDS just OCD

come by and check it out this weekend
