New Mexico Bullet, I just found the thread on your motor...SWEET!!! We are planning a few trips up to Navajo in August, maybe we can catch up.

It was good to read Gary's comments on building big power to run at this altitude...not to many engine buidlers take that into consideration.

We just finished two projects that our goal was specifically to take the boats into the 100mph range(on GPS) at the Butte...very tough to do.

29 warlock with 598 & pro-charger set up. so far 91mph @ 4700rpm...dialing in over the next couple of weeks, hope to hit 100mph.

26 American Offshore Cat with 509 & 8-71 Blower set-up, so far 93mph @ 5100rpm...dialing in over the next couple of weeks, hope to break 100mph.

It has been a lot of fun working on both projects & we have a few others that we our about ready to start...trying to break the century mark in NM is a bit of challenge, we have a couple of guys on the water doing it on a regular basis, but not many...

Good luck with your project and I hope to see you blazing across Navajo or the Butte one weekend.

    Don B.

Jim Statkus did do the assembly & dyno on this particular 540. Jim has done 6 projects for us so far. Including the 540's that I have in my boat.

I also work with Jeff McClintic and we have done 3 projects together.

We work with Mark at D & M marine for all of our out drive work; of course we handle all the upgrades, rigging, running out & dialing in. We are trying to provide NM boaters with all the services that performance boaters have had access to in larger markets.

We have a lot of talent in the New Mexico area, we just needed someone to bring them all together to service all New Mexico boaters...

Thats cool you need to start advertising up here in the Farmington area. In my opinion there is nobody up here to fill the performance marine service market.

Definately in the plan, I know that there is a large number of Performance Boaters up in that area that hang out at Navajo.

No, Jeff has spent most of his life in drag cars, but just recently (within the last year or so) got hooked on performance boating.

McClintic Research & Racing has been around for sometime...
