so'm beach yep still have the Arriva and she is running like a champ knock on wood. It seems like nobody is posting on the other site. so what all are you doing to yours.
I dropped a valve in cyl 1 of my motor a year ago Memorial Day weekend. Just finally able to start getting it fixed. I have the old motor out, and a new long block on the way. Hope...HOPE to be back on the water by the 4th. We'll see. It need some upholstery work, and some gel coat work, but those may have to wait a year. We run an upholstery shop from home, so finding the time to work on our own stuff can be a challenge.
I'm gonna try to get down to the lake for the shoot out this year. I've never been, and it looks like a blast of a long weekend.
Good luck with the engine swap. How many horse do you think you will be pushing out after the swap? Ours need some TLC also late last year we were out on the lake and we took a pretty big roller and we landed flat. We hit so hard it snapped the plastic hinges on the door going in to the cuddy, and we also lost the tach and speedo. I am sure it just knocked a wire harness lose. I would love to get the upholstery done at some point it is starting to show its age a little. I hope you all can make it to the shoot out it is fun you will want to get there early it will get rough after about 10am. So how far do you live from the lake?
I live in central Iowa, about 6hours away. The long block I bought is supposed to be 425hp. I don't know if it will actually be that much when I am finished, tho. I am just swapping all of the stock stuff from the old 330hp motor over. Might limit it some. Next year, if momma is in a good mood, I want to upgrade the exhaust for sure, and maybe the intake and carb.
Our boats are capable for LOTO, but you gotta be careful on the main channel. When we go down, we try and stay in, or around the Niagua arms. We don't venture out into the main very often. The last time we were down, on Friday night before were left, we went to Frank and Louies for diner. We were on the main at around 6:00 or so, and we got the crap beat out of us. I thought it was fun, but the wife and kids were a little less enthusiastic. When we left to head back to the resort, it was close to 10:00 or after, and it was still pretty rough through the 21ish MM.
If I do make it down for the Shootout, we will get there early and stay way late. I've heard about the lake after the shootout. I was thinking about staying in the upper mile markers, around Big Dicks, or Mooneys, so we would be heading in the opposite direction after the race. We'll see what happens. Gotta get the boat running first, before I can make plans.

My family and friends have a lot of homes on the water at the lake, Me and my family will be there july 9-18
on the 20 mile marker,we have been coming to the lake for 40 years. Yes there is some really bad water there and you need to know where to go to find the water conditions that you prefer for your type of hull you have. If anyone needs anyhelp i would be glad to hook you guys up.
