Yeah, problem with that is that the boat loves to run in the chop. A jacuzzi A is stronger than a berk though so its a little different than everyone is used to.

    Good luck with that.

I talked to Jack he said a minimum of 5 hours to get the stainless ready. He also said to run whats in there and not worry about it unless I unload it.

That pump is ready for it...

I say ditch the 496 and go 540. Tunnel ram and a solid roller with is what that boat wants.

If I were you I'd talk real sweet to Jack and beg him to work the stainless for you. He knows how to make the WJ sing. WhenI brought it to him he just shook his head.

The Jacuzzi is up to the task. Full MPD treatment and I have a stainless imp. for it. I guess I will just finish the 496 and get a small block for a
    V drive.

No substitute for cubic inches. You can build the small block, but that kind of power is going to be hard on parts, so you'll have to step up and spend the bucks to make it reliable. You don't just "throw" one together in your spare time, either. It takes some knowledge to build small block power like that, and have it live, even with good parts. Also, 6800 is pushing the limit on anything but an all out race jet pump. The Jacuzi better be up to the task.

If I remember correctly that pump is a pretty stout piece. I agree, go with the 496.

Stout little small block, all in by 6800 rpm over 1000 ft lbs of torque! Someone needs to get a light weight hull and do a blown or turbo small block I bet it would be very quick.

Nice 496 or Blown Small Block

For a jetboat?? My boat is a 2 seater, I don't give a hoot about skiers, I want a fast, hard accelerating ride. I have a 496 now, but trying to decide on ditching that idea and trying a blown, inj, alum. headed small block. I was adding up the cost and it seems to be affordable compaired to a BB setup as long as I don't get crazy exotic on parts. I know I would have to spin a smaller imp. and I know that a BB is the way to go on a jet 99% of the time but..... with the blower taking up the slack I wonder what kind of #'s are possible??? I got my boat from Brendella jet, Brendella, pantera bottom and a freakin nice Jacuzzi pump....

So is it worth a shot not carrying a big load of people on a nice lake boat with the blower??
