Never heard of leaches anywhere before (in california). Givews me the heebie-jeebies just thnking about... Yuck.

    Anyone ever hear of that??
Leaches are very common in lakes and from what I can find any lake can have them and likely do. I did a search on google to find this out. If you are in a protected cove away from the normal flow ,and if the shoreline has weeds ,logs and other debree there is a strong possibility leaches are there.
One more thing to keep our eyes open for. I would still prefer san antonio over naci.

Checked out the lakes Sunday. I found it strange that two lakes so close could be so different. My wife agree that while naci is beautiful we would probably go to san antonio.

Yeah, that's burned into my memory, along with the couple in the tent that left the flap open for the world to watch while they got their jollies.

Went camping one time on Lopez lake (sp?). Gorgeous lake and campground near the coast. Only two lakes I'd consider on the I-5/101 side of the state are those two (lopez and Naci).

Is that lake Pyramid as you cross the Grapevine on Hwy 5 ?

You might want to post this in the Open Water section.
