    It must be put is base timing mode using a merc scan tool, then set the timing at IDLE, then put back in normal mode.

    Yes the boat in my avatar... and yes it should have a BBC but No its got a SBC 6.2 scorpion... I got the boat from a repo yard and got a good deal... its my 1st boat and it does 62 on GPS and thats all I need for now...

    The boat in your avatar would probably have a BBC. Same answer though.

    O.k I'll bite. It's just a sbc ,I think. Assuming you can adjust it, and the timing isn't computer controlled. 32* to 36*(total timing) should be a good starting point. Maybe someone else will have more to add.

    Just had my engine rebuilt and I am wondering where is the timing on this engine supposed to be for best results?? any help is appreciated...
