As for the big O, if he was talking, you guys would flame him for grabbing the spotlight, if he doesn't, he's not doing enough......come on, let's worry about what we can do for our friends across the pacific....
Thats just whats washed up so far- who knows how many living, and how many corpses are under buildings.

They will not loot or riot unless deprived of basic necessities for days then it isn't looting its survival. Thats not their style- they are not a bunch of clowns celebrating a "win" in detroit by rioting burning and turning over cars.
They are a prideful people and highly disciplined.

If you have ever boarded a commercial flight in Japan its an amazing thing to watch.

As far as O speaking.. true, some will criticize him no matter what.
I have given him credit in this site on what I thought was a good call.
Im one of the few that gives him credit when he does well.
If you search my posts you'll see I have done that.

Its rare, and was poorly read, but I did.

    remember slavery
    remember the alamo
    remember nankang

Remember this and that.....The war is over.

Thing is that the guys that made those calls aren't around anymore and this is not a military campaign.

Its a humanitarian disaster affecting millions and its happening to guys that are currently our friends.

Im relieved to hear the Navy is stepping in.

How do you handle 2000 bodies washing up on a shoreline?

    Sad.

Well, the japanese didn't earn brownie points with Nankang in 1937 that's for sure, and sadly only a nuke bomb stopped them in WWII . I don't care for the chinese either for their global ambitions, but in a case like an earthquake, it's about innocent lives are lost and the need for support from all nations to rescue survivors. With Iran, I hope only their nuke plants would get destroyed in an earthquake and people would be able to pressure their government stop rebuilding it.But that sounds way too optimistic
