I have one, came on my used truck I bought, I love it!!
I have a new backflip the HD model maybe 3 months old. It is well built, very easy to install, waterproof, and folds up easy enough. You can fold it up and bungy it to small eyes on the actual cover. I have never driven with it this way but I'm sure it would be fine. Its very functional and I would buy another one.
I believe there are small loops on the bottom side that end up on the top when you flip the panels. I saw a pic of it somewhere. Bungee the loop to the stake pocket?
I think I'm going with the BakFlip and a PE power tailgate lock. Pace-Edwards Tailgate Lock and Pop and Lock
If you fold it once or twice and are running down the highway at 70 or so, do the folded panels ever have a tendency to unfold?
I checked out the Pace Edwards and liked it but there are two cons for me.
1) It covers the stake pockets and I cant do without.
2) I don't like the space that the roll up takes. I often have 2 or 3 dirt bikes in the back and that would be a problem. Although I'm sure I could work around it if needed.
Thanks for the feedback guys.
I have had one one my tow vehicle for the last couple of years and am very happy with it. A quality product. Lock the tailgate and the cover is locked too.
i have the bakflip on our 2500 Avalanche. It's 100X better than the factory cover. Quick easy, etc. No leaks. I'm curious about the previous comment about the tail gate lock feature. On mine in order to open the cover the release is under the 1st panel and you HAVE to open the tail gate in order to open it. If you lock the tail gate, the panel doesn't open. I like how when you fold it back 2 times you have a seat in the back of your truck for tailgating.

The Bakflip is a nice quality cover but the only thing that I didnt care for was having it folded up against my back window when you want to have full access of your bed. Another thing was it did not have a built in Tail Gate Lock unless you purchased it seperatley for your Tail Gate Handle. The Bakflip and the Pace Edwards are about the same price.
The reason I went with the Pace Edwards is because I can have full access to my bed without anything blocking my back window and it has a nice built in Tail gate lock feature when its closed, Plus it has a long pull strap where I can pull it closed from the back instead of walking down the side of the bed and flipping it back to close which is no big deal for most but with a 12" lifted truck its kind of hard to reach up there to fold it back.
Good Luck on your decision!
