Very well said. I left my last employer over 40 years ago and made my own way ever since. Now, your class hates mine for some very odd reason. Forget skills and talk guts. Skills are easily acquired with the right amount of fortitude. The level of skill is usually commensurate to the returns on investment. Want to be a doctor or lawyer you will pay a higher price and bank much more time to get there but, the compensation will determine if that effort is worth it. You chose security and now you point fingers at others that chose to risk it all in business ventures? How trite? Exactly whom do you believe is paying your salary? Hint - it ain't the Kenyan.

Seriously, what freaking skill do you guys have that is above what anyone else has? Low morals, greed, maybe a complete lack of morals? Tell me again how the rich are the saints of the world, and the people that assemble stuff are scum......But, here's a thought; Who the hell are you gonna sell your crap to, if 300 million Americans aren't ever payed more than $3/hour? You go brokey, bubba! Maybe your buddies in (Communist) China will let you immigrate, but I bet they don't want to pay you a bunch of mulla to grind their workers into the ground- they already have that covered.....

JUst explain how you can justify a worker who made $8000 in 1965 makes $60,000 today, while the big guys who made $80,000 in 1965 now make $10 mil? "I give you a penny, I give myself a dollar- I give you a penny, I give myself 20 dollars, I give you a penny, I- screw it, drop dead, I'm taking it all, including the company's operating money!" I worship greed, ha hahaha ha ha!!!!

You're kidding right? CVX, you couldn't strip, remount, balance and reinstall a tire in a tire shop if you had a week of video training. The asswipe at GM doesn't mount a tire, or balance it, he doesn't even lift the POS. He "guides" it to the car, and "guides" the 5 lug air wrench that AUTOMATICALLY torques all the bolts. He has NO clue how to do the job without any of the stuff in the plant. He would be stranded and starve in the desert if he got a flat on his personal car. You think the guy installing pistons in a engine at GM can rebuild the damn thing? He can't even tell you how it runs!!!!
There ARE NOT trained people. They haven't been trained people for decades. I would be ashamed to admit a uneducated Mexican, or Chinese could take my job. Regardless what they pay him. He still has to be able to do the job. Mowing lawns requires more skill and physical strength, and nobody thinks that is a 100,000 plus bennies job. Why is mounting tires on new cars? Assembling Iphones, or watch Pepsi bottles rush by on a line!

They can get the maximum for their labor in any given market by going to the place that is wiling to pay the most. Nobody is forced to work at any given company. The workres product is their skills, experience and productivity and it can be marketed to any buisness just as buinsess are marketing thier goods are services. It's not that hard.

This is the tiny ass mind set of the average dick head on the assembly line. Well they have enought to pay the top asshole 20 million but not enough to pay me 10% more. 10% more across the board is like 20 BILLION! dumb ass!

And, that moron installing tires slower than a high schooler at a tire store IS the problem, not the solution. The brass get paid big bank to find ways to MAXIMIZE PROFITS FOR THE STOCKHOLDERS!!!!!! Get that straight. Its all about the investor. Its ALWAYS has been, it ALWAYS SHOULD BE! Its called free enterprise and the American way. Since 1776.
There are two problems with the 200% raises for the top brass; 1) Every year they do this kind of crap, while the workers generally have their pay raises every 5 years or so, so tho there are fewer TBs, they are using much bigger shovels and every year, and 2) seriously, how do you go to your workers and say, "The company is hurting, you gotta take a pay cut", then give yourself a raise or bonus? That my friends is pure unadulterated GREED....and it also seems to equate to corruption. And it's freaking disgusting- and sadly, most corp guys aren't even embarrassed doing it...they don't even blink an eye.....

That union is the biggest pile of shit that does nothing for the employs but it sure dumps a lot of $$$ into the politicians pockets! Maybe you have heard of them CALPERS!
Its WORSE than that. I can interview and test 20 union "service techs" and may not find a one that can pass the simplest questionaire/test that they are given. Seriously. It happens at least 3-4 times a month. Its sad, but its true.
A guy off the street looking for a job can ace the thing, and we can't hire him because he isn't union, and can't get in because to many dumbass bench warmers in the hall. They have been, and will be for sometime. They are unhireable. They are the rams of the trade.
So, I do the only thing I can do, I give the guy the name of 2 maybe 3 non union shops looking for a good man, and maybe even make a call or two. The guy DESERVES a job. He KNOWS his trade. I hate to see good talent go to waste. I hate to see usless POS get jobs and opportunities they they waste because they refuse to apply themselves.
If you work for GM and can't spell Chevrolet, you shouldn't be working there.

You're reading it wrong. I was refering to every employee that works for a company, works for that company willingly. And CALPERS isn't a union, it's a retirement fund.
