The summer hotboat weekends at Marble Lake are the ultimate shine-and-show family events, and they get very little showing from the usual Michigan Hot Boaters. Dale, the owner of Corn Island, is a fantastic event host. He does it for the love of the lake. There's plenty of clear area for grilling, lots of shallow-water sandy bottom parking, and a good family atmosphere. If you want to sit on your ass and drink beer that's fine. If you want to stay sober and burn some alcohol instead, it's 100% legal, with no restriction on noise or speed within the course. There's good launch parking, lots of speed photo opps at the sandbar, and a great chain of lakes to run on.
There's permits for a multitude of Friday evening grudge races. No sanctioning, no rules, just a good time. The Saturday events last all-day long.

I added one more o to show I agreed.
Why? nobody shows up when there is one close to them
We should have two meets every weekend...North-South, East-West every other week

I'd rather see the last meet moved to Marble where some put up or shut up can be managed out. (IE Mark can come and kick everyones ass) There's 4 opportunities to run Marble all summer in good weather, plenty of put up or shut up time. The fact is, Wamplers has a history of attracting the biggest crowds, especially in the fall. Just cause one year gets rained out doesn't form grounds to move the event. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

The East end of the lake is usually rough chop in the spring and fall, the beach is too far away for anyone to get a good look, take a good photo, or shoot a decent video. Besides, the people who live on the lake HATE the noise that we love so much. I bring my boat to Wamplers mostly to take action photos of you guys running (just for fun), and most of the group never leaves the beach until they pull out.
Like others have said, Marble Lake is a good opportunity to run your boat as hard as you'd like without breaking the law, and everybody gets a good look it at, whether you choose to race, or just make a quick pull for the crowd at the sandbar. If you park and don't even run, it's still a fun time.
Mark's boat is so quick that he's barely comfortable running alongside another. My boat is so slow, that I almost always get beat. We still like to light 'em up and make a good pass for the crowd.
Yooper, your boat is a work of art. I probably wouldn't beat on it either if it was mine.

It's only a 1/8 mi course at Marble lake, 660'
I've got a hun that says you aint going to make 130 in that distance hitting it off plane at the start line. Same offer to Tony, Rick, and Mike.
The only issue I had with the Marble lake drags was the pontoon boat at the finish line.
I say use a GPS and get that pontoon boat off the course.
Here's what it looks like passing a pontoon boat at 122 mph....., MAH05771.mp4 video by Mark11530 - Photobucket
nevermind--- I dont see why this has anything to do with Wamplers, lotta people got wet ,no one fell out ....Nothing to see here ...move along....
I can say that with out seat belts stuffing at 120 mph hurts instantly. With seat belts and blowing over at 126 mph my boat got hurt, not me. I understand about the safety crew Yooper. I personally love Marble lake racing. I'm not the fastest and there is always someone faster. Not many places around like the Marble lake deal, Thanks AAron and Dave and all involved.
Yeah thats fine until its 130 mph....then get ready for the enema you never wanted....
I crashed may 1st, brocke my pelvis in 4 places trust me it hurt that day instantly, but that was a quad crash on hard ground, so water might noy hurt till the next day lol
Crashing don't hurt.... It's the day after does
