Thanks and sorry for the insults, C-j. It's all good.

Coon ass, Cajun, redneck, hillbilly, etc. How about "backwards hick"? Works for me!

Is that clear enough for you, moron?

So if some one plays down what you do for a living as taking less intelligence, it's OK with you? What do you do for a living?
Maybe I didn't present that as clear as I was thinking. I meant "they" were morons and I would stand by farmers rather than a bunch of union bakers.

    I'm in maintenance/machinist at a local plant

After rereading I wasn't very clear. My fault.

My bet is they never put the it together with the lyrics for Twisted Sister's "We're not going to take it".

Absolutely true, never sign an agreement and never let your business go union, ever. I had 2 organizing attempts while with a very large company. A lot of hard work and the truth won out. The union went away before a vote was scheduled both times. Everyone of the spineless piss-ants that brought this trouble were gone within 6 months. Most were run off by pear pressure. The others were gone for cause. The weak (the blamers) who won't talk with management are the one's who love Unions no matter what it cost.

I am not an expert at this, but I believe the union is only entitled to hard assests, and not the name or the "good will" of the company.

The same thing happened decades ago with Kaiser Steel. The union pension fund recieved the property and plant in Fontana for back pension contributions. That thing sat for decades before Penske finally bought it. They had to sell that place for a song because of the expense to clean it up for anythng used for commercial office space or residential. Penske swung a killer deal and bought the place as it sat, then sold the steel mill to the Chinese who came over and removed it.

The bakers could be holding ovens and conveyer mechinery for years before they realize a dime. If the property and trucks were leased, they are really screwed.

This all stems from a CONTRACT the company signs when they "decide" or are "forced" to unionize. They sit on the top of the OWED LIABILITY list because they are LABOR.

The union(s) think this is a huge gain for union kind, and shows the comapnies they mean business and woun't buckle under the threat of liquidation.
I'll tell you the signal it REALLY sents. It SCREAMS to all the companies in the country that are not union to never ever sign a contract agreement with ANY union, EVER!!!!
You think any company that might buy Hostess line (not necessarily the tangible assets) will hire union pukes after this? Think EVERY company in the country making anything using unskill labor will think twice before putting their ass on the line?
Unions in unskilled manufacturing and civil service are like drug dealers. They start out asking no more than the man off the street, and then they slowly ramp up till your done in. Once they have their hooks in you, you finished. Its just a matter of time.,
