    Reversion?

    Sorry, (i'm a dumb ass), posts 3 and 8 talk about reversion(intake) I assume we are not talkin about suckin water up thru the exaust. I'm about to tear off a single 4 tr, and bolt on a vic jr. Anyway what is intake reversion, and wtf is a sheer plate?

    Shear plates are a good idea for a TR like this one. The intake runners point right at the base of the carbs. Intake reversion will thus shoot right for the boosters. Of course, softened by the plenum some.

    In a single plane, the revesion shoots more under the carb than at it. Reversion still plays havoc with carbs but not as much as in a TR.

    Add into this the bigger cams used for TR applications, and, well, you get the idea.

    4 holes spacers become a restriction at higher than 1/2".

    I'd run appropriate height reversion plates. Wilson makes many different ones.

    The way I did it is ALOT of work so be prepaired if you take that route.

    Dominators will sit flat without spacers, even though shear plates are beneficial. If you have 4150's then yes, you'll need something, and most will use a shear plate to kill two birds with one stone. IMO you shouldn't run anything taller than that unless you're doing it for tuning. The smaller carbs might want more plenum volume, but that's accomplished with a spacer under the top plate. Some use a special durometer rubber for this to help isolate the carbs from vibration. The angled plates just help keep the carbs flat during a run which I have mixed opinions about.

    I am running willsons sheer plates & there 4 hole spacer. The sheer plates are there to prevent reversion and spacers have been cut on a 4* angle in order to level the carbs. If you are going to spend the money to do this you might as well just buy a plate system.
