I run old style mopar with e-vac tubes to the headers. I run clear hose and never seen any oil. Pass tech last month at San Angelo sdba/Lucas oil event

It all depends on who you are. Not bashing... but I have had the "oil separator" breathers in my valve covers for years and years. When the puke tank rule came about I changed absolutely NOTHING. Never a word.
Not that I am someone.... but I was never asked about it.
So, I believe it is not a huge deal.

Just haven't put the tank on yet. I'd much rather run the evac to the headers.
Mike...Don't put the tank on or a pan/evac system .Old school..I would run a Moroso Vacuum pump with a relief valve in the valve cover set at 15 inches vacuum max.

Originally I had part store Mr. Gasket breathers with exit fittings ( as GN states Oil Separators) clear hose to the evac on the headers, mostly moisture with a lil oil, when I went to wheatland I pulled the hose, passed tech which I thought it was due to no hose, so I had bungs welded in the covers and started spending

I think the rule is to keep you from just using a AN fitting in the valve cover and nothing else.

You can also run the valve cover line to a tank and from the tank to the headers. If its good enough for NHRA ProMod type cars, I think it would be good enough for Lucas.
Moroso sells a number of different tanks, as does Star Vacuum pumps
Been using that style breather for years, Mr. gasket and Moroso both have chrome versions. Seal the crimped seam on the chrome jobbies, or they will leak at the seam. Early 70's Mopar breathers from the parts store. I run the lines up to the scoop pan, stay dry as can be.

I could really care less about the above boat not have correct system to pass tech, heck I would do it too, if I thought I could get away with it,
Other than I went out of my way abiding by a rule.

GN to clarify I was just stirring up the BS about the zoomies deal, if someone else is loosing power or gaining power, i dont care. RTs and ETs get WINS
Yeah that's a tough rule to follow along with

Hey LED, those little thingies on the valve covers the lines are hooked to, THOSE ARE OIL SEPERATORS
