Hopefully the Admin will take heed to that and add an additional area.

The nitro engines are what; blown, unblown how much power? As you know some engine's just aren't practical to dyno or it is not possable to dyno them?

The best thing about the dyno is not so much the power you are making, it doesn't matter if it's a 550 HP BBC or a 900 HP BBF it's just when it get's in the boat you know it run's.

But yes: hose end's and carb selection info should be elsewhere. The dyno thread is a good place for engine build's and head flow info.

Now look here...this thread is coming around to being under the right topic after all. Let's discuss pros and cons of dyno testing.

Moderators can't clean up a site if there's no where to take out the garbage. (Not garbage, but you know what I meant)
I think the Gearheads topic was a good one. Bench racers was just a bunch of social BS. I agree some changes are in order. Got to give these guys their due, though...this site seems to be working pretty dern good right out of the gate. Good Job PB guys.

Sounds like we need two seperate categories: "On the Dyno" AND "Gear Heads."

ps: and suddenly, with this post, it occurred to me that we also need a Bench Racers category.

Ha! The partners I work with who build themselves sick engines have never used a dyno or flow bench...they use a stopwatch or the traps at the end of the racetrack, period. Old school, I guess. (Not saying that you practice the same way, Fiat, just an "semi-off topic" reply). This is actually a bit ironic if you think about it...afterall, at this day and age for most of us it's all about getting into the zero's without breaking out...so who needs a dyno, and yet Billy and Van run nitromethane/balls out/best man wins engines...and they don't dyno tune their engines. HUH?

I figure we will get some input...then Rexone will jump in here and straighten us out or come up with a better idea.
