I personally believe that we have to be careful, on both sides, to not "Self-Propagandize" ourselves......I have heard a lot of "Reliable Experts" spout absolute BS....And people will nod "knowingly" and say, "I knew it!" Back before I went in the Navy (OK, Waaayyyyy back), I would generally believe anything anyone told me- Then, while stationed on the USS Coral Sea, I worked with a PO2 from the A-7 squadron....He told me that A-7s were the fighter, while F-4 Phantom IIs were the bomber....All based on the fact that the A-7 had a gun while the F-4 didn't....At first I thought he was trying to pull a new guy's leg, but after a while I realized he believed this, whole-heartedly...He'd been in the A-7s since A-school- Approx' 5 years......I knew better, not because of training, but because since I was able to talk, I had been an aircraft nut- My Father repaired Navy jets at NAS Alameda...The F-4 has a "Fighter-Control Radar", and the A-7 does not! There are "experts" that are full of "Fully-processed food", and there are "Reliable sources" that have an axe to grind- And that happens on both sides....I tend to take in info from multiple sources, and then discount utterly ridiculous claims...Sadly, sometimes everyone is spinning so fast that you can never get to the truth.
Iam guessing that we have yet to hear the truth on this and likely never will no matter who is reporting the story.
Or Faux news.......You keep letting the Rusians and Chinese tell you whats going on, they'll make a good comrade out of you yet!
