Excellent! Lots of good hard data, nice to know what I can and can not get away with. I am now leaning towards running E85 but I want to set my compression low enough so I can go back to gas if it does not work out in the long run

Safely, non-intercooled @ 8:1 you can run 8 Pds on 91 octane. Keep your timing conservative, run it 32 or less get it all in right away or lock it out and you will have no problems. Stray from this and you will! I did!

540 inch double stripped delta port 871 intercooler 8.3-1 static 10 lbs of boost hydrolic roller cam on 110 gas made 1000 hp. Would run safely on pump gas but as an insurance it stays on 110.

Now I'm building a merlin block 540 with ported dart 360 heads and a TBS 871. I hope to pump mud to the tune of 90mph this year Still looking for recommendations on CR.....anyone running pump gas?
    8:1 static, 12#'s boost, 871 intercooled on a 500ci Mark IV block.
With a bird it's been happy on AV gas.

    Boost

I am still playing with mine, but on my 468 with a 6-71 I do run pump gas 99% of the time. I have a 58 up top and 53 pulley on the bottom. Its pushing around 4-5 lbs of boost now, but when I swap the pullies I am getting around 7-8. But to be honest I am not really sure what the exact boost is as I have only made three passes so far with that setup on 114. I didnt have much time last year between the build, weather and family. I am running the edelbrock marine aluminum heads with the inconel valves on my deal for now and there is a conservative setup with timing etc... Hope this helps

I run on the Muskegon river (Hardy dam / Brower Park) near Big Rapids, MI.
I also run on Gun Lake ( south of Grand Rapids, MI.)

What type/make boat do you run?

Here's a few pics of our rides.
