Default Lake Oroville Regulars I got a question

So I've lived in chico for the last year. I've been to Lake Oroville, but not on it, since I haven't gotten my boat finished up yet. However I'm borrowing a beater family boat from a friend because the In-Laws are in town and we are going to take them and the 5 kids up to the lake for a lake day tomorrow.

Heres the questions: 1st, I hear Lake Oroville has some debris issues at the beginning of the year typically, its still fairly early in the season, how is the debris right now? Is it worth it to go somewhere else? I'm guessing we will just be up there pulling the kids a bunch in the tube, nothing crazy, maybe try to get one or both of my brother in laws on some skis, but just a mellow day on the lake.

2nd, We will need a decent day beach as the boat probably will fit about 6-7 but we will have 11 of us up there, so a decent day beach where they can play in the water, run around a little bit, relax and beach the boat, bbq. Where is the best place for this on Lake Oroville? Seeing that we are going to go in the morning on a Wednesday makes me think we could get just about any beach area we want. whats the best area for what we'd like to do? Also if it has some shade thatd be great! 5 are Washington state natives... so......lets just say the 95 degree heat and bright sun is pretty much unheard of!

And last thing, I'd really like to launch up at Lake Oroville Marina, as its closest for me, and I'm using my old crappy F100 pickup to pull this boat around. However I was told last year the 5mph was strung way out past the bridge, is this still the case where the 5mph is miles long??

    thanks guys

    Andrew

Sorry man, I live in the Chico/Paradise area, but don't really know much about Lake Oroville. I'm sure you can find something easily, but if you got questions maybe call them or email.

I have boated the entire lake multiple times this year

The lake is full and very little debris on the water

I think your talking about lime saddle marina the 5 zone goes to the hwy 70 bridge

I prefer to boat the Oroville afterbay myself Hwy 99 and hwy 162

Monument launch ramp has a sandy beach and bar be Q's and a nice restroom there.

That where we test all our boats. The fastest water in the west!!!

Based on my first experience at Lake Oroville, it's by far one of my new favorite lakes. So many places to go on that lake, and it was so easy to find nice water. The boat in campsites are very nice! The one we were at had a great cove and lots of shade. Very very nice! Definitely going back, and so happy to call it my new "home" lake, being its the closest lake to me, although I'm pretty excited about checking out more of these amazing northern calif lakes!

Did you end up near Lime Saddle at all.?

We're thinking about going later this year, wondering what is best. Floating would be cool, but looking for more of a regular site, but near the water's edge.
I heard they have group sites too.?

Glad you had a good time, Oroville is at its best right now

My two brothers and mother have houses overlooking the lake, 5 mins to the ramps

We have a 60ft houseboat out there

Its funny but, we really like to boat the Delta or the Oroville Afterbay more

    Lets hook up some time
