    Question Nuts & Bolts Sacramento/Auburn

Anyone know of a place that sells specialty bolts individually in the greater Sac area. I've ran into a few situations over the years, when I needed an item specific bolt and have only found one place in town that ALWAYS has what I need. Fastenal, only problem is they only sell by the box (25-100). Latest thing I was looking for was 1 1/2" long, grade 8, taper head bolts for use on a loader I added to the Rogers. I know I can get the stuff shipped to me from various places online, but sometimes (all the time), I would rather drive somewhere and get them in town, same day (with no shipping costs). I've always struck out at the old Ace or Home Depot it seems like. Any leads on this kind of place would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, I may have 96 loader bolts for sale, cheap on monday if anybody in town needs a set.

Have you tried Blue Collar on Florin Perkins Road? They Have quite a bit of hardware but nothing out of the norm. Good selection of Stainless Steel at a good price.

"Greater Sac" can't be all that great if they don't have Ace Hardware. Havasu has one store for every 25,000 people.

BTW The 8 grade 8 3/8 -16 X 2 countersunk allen head head bolts ...chromed.....for my strut came from ace....not cheap....but neither were the same bolts in stainless from the loco stainless bolt shop. I say 'loco' because he had a set of 1" header bolts in stainless hanging on the wall......80 freekin dollars...granted....they were ARP.....but still.

And yes, i know, chromed bolts isn't a good idea....but it's not 'local bumper shop chrome'....allen wrench fits correctly and the threads look sweet with a magnifying glass, been in a year and the one i checked looked brand new and don't need to put anti-seize on the threads.

Spend enough money at Ace....they will special order anything they can find in their catalogs.

you could also try White Cap Construction Supply. I have gotten some specialty items there, but I can't remember if they sell items individually. Ace Hardware in Roseville and Granite Bay usually has a good selection also. Maybe try a different Ace location than the one you have tried.

ABC always has exactly what your looking for. Prices a good also. Just watch the light-rail tracks! that part always makes me nervous.

Thanks for the ideas. Yeah Ace has helped me out many times with things. Just seems like sometimes they come up a little short on certain things. Looking for a place that I can depend on to have even the strangest hardware in stock on the shelf. Not afraid to pay the price & I know alot of places will order the stuff. But at that point I can go online and get things in a couple days. I will definitely stop in a few of these places and check them out.
    Thanks Again.

The ACE on Madison in Orangevale has a really good selection of bolts / hardware near the Greenback / Madison split
When I can't find it anywhere else I go there
    Good luck

any of the ace's around town should have it but emighs ace on el camino has the biggest selection. worse comes to worse tognottis on fulton. you'll end up paying a pretty penny but they pretty much have everything there.

    Default West Sacramento

Supply Hardware & Building on Harbor Blvd near West Capitol Ave has a great supply of Stainless bolts, nuts, washers, Nylocks, acorns, castles, 6 point, 12 point, hex, allen, torx, and a good supply of chrome hardware, and everything else you can think of, Grd 5, Grd 8... and all avail by singles or by the box.
