With boats on the water there will be birds in the air and some very cool pictures, especially of your boat, what with all the talent I expect you will have on board. Lock down your lodging in the Keys soon.

Dave, I doubt it since i just don't see how I could come close to meeting expenses let along justifying my time. As big as Shasta got it became difficult to cover expenses for that great event what with all the resistance I encountered. Love Shasta, may go back but even that is questionable.

More likely to bring back Bridge to Bridge in the future than any other event.

I am working on something new in the bay area for early October that would involve a shootout and poker run but have got to keep the wraps on it for now.

Yea Chris the Bridge to Bridge on the Sacramento River in Old Town Sacramento would be great to bring back. We always loved that event. Would you do a car show also for the Bridge to Bridge ?

If B2B ever lives again it will be an overall motorsports focus and might even include a little nitro fumes for a little fun.

Be sure to bring a big jar of Vaseline when you bend over for the eco-Nazis vessel inspection. Preventing an invasive species into the lake is indeed necessary, however attempting to make a profit from it despicable. So a big FU TRPA. That would be the Tahoe Regional Protection Agency for people from out of the area. Bunch of wack jobs that make Greenpeace look like whale hunters.

Does your comment mean you had a bad experience? Actually no need to respond. Don't you just love our knee jerk reaction big government boys at work.

Actually I go through it every year and never have a problem. One I prepare for it and have a dry engine compartment, two I go in early morning to avoid long waits and third and most important I bring along my girlfriend who just loves to pass the time resting with her "head" in my lap.

Life is good, just let it flow.

I didn't have a bad experience, because I refuse to subject myself or my wallet to extortion by a bunch of self appointed jackwagons. I've had both of my boats inspected many times, in different locations, and all ways as a courtesy. While the TRPA eco-Nazis charging a substantial fee may not offend you, but it certainly does me. And it is more about the principal, than the actual expense. I've boated Tahoe for 20 years, stayed in the Keys for a least a week every year, but guess what, no more, I'll take my boating dollars to a community that welcomes me, instead of trying to take advantage me. Ever wonder where that money goes, I sure do.

And if you want to find out just how out of control TRPA really is, have another incident like the recent one at Havasu, or LOTO, or the one in Texas. As stated on another thread, these "poker runs" will be the demise of the high performance boating scene. They turn into nothing more than an unorganized and out of control race, by participants that have more money than driving skills. Have a crash and spill some petro products in that water and next year you will be putting on a canoe race.

Having been involved in putting on sanctioned races and unsanctioned poker runs both permitted and ones not needing permits since 1989 or so without incident I have not had any negative issues with any agency anywhere so do not have any personal experience in that area. I know that poker runs have been a major driving force in the growth of the performance marine industry and significantly in the sales of performance marine products as well. As this relates to Tahoe I have found the Coast Guard, local police agencies and local business's to be friendly, helpful and receptive to our events there.

Wherever you do go boating I hope you have a wonderful time.
