    Exclamation Freaking hit it!!

I was boating on the Sacramento River last weekend and hit an unseen submerged tree.
Location was between Verona and Knights landing. Nobody else will hit the tree because we tied a red ski bouy to the tree.

I bought my boat new in 1995 and WAS in perfect condition.

    What to do?

I do have insurance, I called the Malibu factory in Merced and they don't do repairs but they recommended Ultimate Watersports/Bell Aqua off of Dry Creek road.
I'm not familiar with them at all.

The insurance company is sending a marine inspector to inspect the boat next week. He made it sound like I should consider a total and he hasn't even seen it yet.

The stress of wrecking a boat.

Ya I nailed the tree dead center at about 33mph. It went like this...
    BAM!!!
It was a big ass tree too.

That sucker was right dead center in the middle of the river, I could have been two feet to the right or left and I would have missed it.
    Just my luck that day.

The thing that concerns me the most is that the rudder is pushed back out of position as you can see by the crack. Also the boat is taking on water through the hull around the shaft strut and probably the rudder.
When I pulled the boat onto the trailer water was dripping out around both spots.

I hit a submerged tree on the river in my old Malibu Sunsetter and it was fixed by Bell Aqua. Was about $3,600.00 to fix (10 years ago). The insurance covered all but my $250.00 deduct

What part of Nor Cal? I think when it comes to river boating, these things just happen. Years of big rains and lots of snow tends to wash more crap down than years where lesser amounts of precipitation doesn't. You'll always find stuff floating but most times it's a fluke to nail something like this. This is just my 2 cents.
