WOW What happened? Was it a big roller wave or did you punch it hard or both? Was the boat damaged? and did you get hurt?

Know the feeling, hit a roller at 86MPH 8 years ago doing a radar run for the gang in a 18 foot v-drive flat, wind took it, just about blew over, came down sideways, blew the side of the boat out and the water came through and ripped the whole top of the boat off from the passenger seat back.............. total loss............ luckily, threw me into the passenger side just ahead where the water came through.................... another chapter of "And They Walked Away"...................

What about the days befor the pop off valve. That motor let loose, it was going. Which way, no one knew. I was sitting in the cove at firebird, west side of the track just past the 1/4. Freaking boats would head right for me. I recall one making it right up to the shore line. From that piont on I would stage the tow boat "behind" the rope.
