    Default Where to Launch?

My blown Sanger hydro should be arriving in Lodi sometime around the end of the month. I'm looking for suggestions on where to go for the inaugural launch and first ride. My usual choices would be Comanche North launch ramp or the public ramp next to Ladd's Marina in Stockton. But I have never seen a hydro at either location and less than a handful of flats. So, is there a more desirable venue?

My wife will be with me ready to pass judgment on the whole experience, so I am OK with hauling the boat up to 100 miles if necessary.

The motor has mufflers and water injection , so lets assume it is within legal noise levels.

Take it to Camp Far West. About 11/2 hour drive. Well less from Lodi.

Camp far west is a good choice, I also need to run my boat for the first time and was headed up this coming up weekend or the following weekend and also the wife is coming along, enjoy your boat.

If you just want to go out for a couple test runs or something and just to get it wet you can go to Modesto Reserviour, the rangers are pretty cool about the boats being there. Just do all your gassing up BEFORE you arrive. Theres no fuel allowed in the launch area. The beach at the launch ramp is a decent place to hang out too if you want to spend a few hours there.

    Good Luck with the run!

New Hogan is ok as long as the wind doesn't come up. Rangers don't seem to care as long as mufflers are in. Water is down now, but isn't it everywhere...

    Thumbs up

If you want to launch in Stockton, go to Ladd's marina at the end of March Lane. The ramp is in good shape and not too steep. I have been using this location for many years to launch my boats and very happy.
