    Default need lake camping ideas

Hey guys im planning on doing a boating/camping trip sometime in June and with the water levels being so low, im not sure where to go. I was thinking Bullards Bar but from what im hearing, the campsite is quite a hike away from the beach due to the water level. I was hoping that someone on here could give me some ideas. Im looking for something that is tucked away, quaint, and obviously with nice beaches and smooth water. And also someplace that will hopefully have a decent water level. Im in Sacramento so something relatively close to here would be nice. Thanks in advance for the help!

Englebright up near Nevada City is a nice lake and the water level usually stays good. I don't know if they have actual camp sites or if you have to boat in and dry camp.

You might also check the water level at Rollins Lake. Greenhorn and Long Ravine are both nice places to camp.

Englebright bright Has cabins and some boat in camping only. Bullards is like way low 80 ft. though I did not check the boat ramp to see if it was usable when I drove buy today.

Englebright looks like alot of fun. When they say "first come first serve" campsites, is that just as they mean it?? Do I have to show up at 5AM to get a site? How is Berryessa and don pedro for camping?

I dont think we will have to worry too much about water levels in any lakes around this area come June. This 'drought' thingy is a bunch of BS - have you guys looked to the east lately? The Sierras are packed with snow! and water levels are already topping off at some of the smaller lakes around here. I think Bullards Bar will have no problem with fill by June.

If you dont mind a little pull, WHiskeytown is always full and has very nice waterside campsites

CFW has camping too... and during the week its like your own personal lake!

Wiskeytown looks super nice but that is a bit of a haul. And CFW is still an option but I think we will be doing this on a weekend. The lady is setting this up for my birthday and my options were camping with the boat or vegas.....tough decision.

Whiskey Town was always an awesome location growing up, but haven't been there in 30 years. Ah, the memories......

Yes its first come first served.. depending on the weekend you may need to show up thursday to get a good spot.. MAKE SURE YOU ANCHOR AWAY FROM SHORE AT NIGHT.. its a hydro electric lake and drops a bit in the early AM. also the cabins are private and not for rent... Good thing is that its always full...

You dont have to stay in a campground at Bullards.. the best places to camp are on the nice white sandy beaches.. Ill be there all summer... lol

CFW (the cove) will be packed for Fathers day mid June (14th/15th), but it will be a good time either way.!!
CFW is full right now, but the "drought" has taken it's toll on a lot of lake, & not sure how full CFW will be after this weekends race. I could see them start letting it out once the race is over.
