Default another route to cfw from the north.

We will be leaving on thursday from Graeagle, Ca. Will be taking Hwy 49 down out of the sierras then drop down onto Hwy 20. Is there a way to to reach Camp Far West from the north? Smartsville Road?

If I am not mistaken, you can only take Smartsville so far and it will enter Beale AFB. You would have to go onto Waldo Rd to Spenceville Rd, which will turn into Camp Far West Rd and take you right to the entrance. The only problem is you will be driving for 15 miles or so on a dirt / gravel road. I haven't been on those roads in several years, but I have driven them many times and the gravel portions can be very rough.

I think your best be is to take 20 into Marysville, then 65 south, turn left on Main St. in Wheatland, then merge onto Spenceville Road, then Right on Camp Far West Road. When you get to the dam, camp far west road goes to the left (don't go across the dam). This will take you to the entrance.

You might be better off to just take 49 to 80 to 65. You can also take Hwy 193 off hwy 80. 193 will take you into Lincoln. Hwy 193 is somewhat winding and narrow in places. I have taken my RV through there, but it isn't for everyone. LOL.

    Default re

Thanks for the info. Been over to the southside campground before coming through the Central Valley. Now we live up in the Sierras looking from the opposite side. Shortcuts can sometimes get a person in trouble with the wifey. Haha.

I just talked to some friends at the lake now. They said the lake is close to full.
