    Default camping July 29-Aug 1

Im most likely heading up to Englebright for a camping trip the last week in July. Anyone going to be up that way? I just called and the lake is apparently full and not packed full of campers. They said that they didnt even sell out on the 4th of July.

I wish I could...I retired on July 4th(for some reason everyone across the country celebrated my retirement!) but I have spent two months re-clutching my sportscar and my GF and her kids are stuck with plans...As soon as I have checked out the quality of my work(A week or so of short trips) I plan on taking a look at Sonoma and Ruth- although Englebright is really nice and basically always full, the choice spots(Boston bar) are always pretty crowded...and I've had some bad luck there- 1st trip skunk and dog fight in camp, 2nd 2 perfect days and then someone literally turned on a wind machine-barely made it back up the lake! 3rd trip rattlesnakes(GF's fault, I've never seen a snake in 50 years of camping(4 months later we went to Arnold and SHE found a 4" snake in the bathroom- in winter! (wait!....Not MINE!) Last time my back went out, the boat wouldn't start when we were leaving....I get the impression that somebody doesn't want me to go there!
I'd really like to go tho...After the 2 month clutch job(Mid-engined- next time I'm using a stick of dynamite for disassemby- I'll save time but need to buy some replacement parts!) I need a real vacation. Have fun!

I'm afraid I won't SURVIVE the next trip! It really is a great lake but I just seem to have a black cloud over me up there....Here's a pic of the campsite at Boston from a few years ago; There was obviously a mole or something digging around under the ground, leaving a trail of cracked earth...I had just "forced" my GF to watch the Tremors movies(She liked them) and so when she went up to the restroom, I created a mound, put my hat on it and tipped my chair over, then hid....She thought it was hilarious....Hey, laughing with me instead of at me...Score!

CVXJET it sounds like you need another trip out there. Plus I could use some help building some of sand furniture.

Shouldn't take more than 30 mins but I've got to find the time to get over there and wrench on it. I recently rebuild it but I've noticed a little gas squirting around the accelerator pump so I'm hoping it just needs a little tightening. And on top of that the boat was leaking water from around the pump bolts on the inside of the transom which ended up being about a 1/4 turn lose so I need to run it up to the Folsom lake after the carbs done to make sure the leak it taken care of before we hit Englebright. Oh the joys of boating. I can't really complain though....the last boat it was rebuild motor not just the carb.
