There is No place Like Bullards Bar. And I do not mean a bar to wet your whistle.
This a lake in the northern Sierra Foot Hills in yuba / Sierra County.
We call it little Shasta.
30 miles north of Nevada City
Free Launch, And if you Sleep on your house boat or any kind of boat, Camping is Free.
if you Camp on the Shore ya have to pay a fee and show your porta potti , ya don't have to use it,ya just got to show u have one.
Me and a buddy used to race our flat bottoms in a cove in the evenings just before dark.
An AquaCraft against a Hallet, Our little oval track was a blast.
Forget the weekends to many people and boats go on the week days Mon threw thurs
The sheriff does patrol the lake, But I have Never been hassled about the flat bottom exhausted, But i don't race around
when the sheriff is around.
We wait till they pass, around the cove, (we know there route) Then the racing around begins. \
Oh yeah, They DO NOT check for bugs in your boat

I haven't been to Bullards in probably 10 years. We took a couple flats out there before. Back then, I had guys that barefoot with me. They could barefoot starting about 3pm because it seemed like everyone came off the lake early. Great Lake!!

MONDAY THE 8/06/18, 11:00.
WOW what a nice ski day, with the smooth water up the north fork of the Yuba river in Bullards Bar Lake.
I WISH I HAD THE FLAT BOTTOM OUT THERE.
No Sheriffs, all day, no people, I saw about ten boats and a hand full of house boats in the coves.
Friday Aug 10th @ 1pm Smooth water and no one on the lake ( Bullards Bar lake)
From 10am to 2pm there was maybe 5-6 boats , Unbelievable, and no wind and NO SHERRIFF
I was stuck with the ski boat for the second time, I wish I had the flat bottom.

When the level is just right I've got the wave runner in the tunnel and gone all the way to the diggins' on the other side. Pucker up!
Yep no place like bullards bar lake.
Back in the late 80's we drove our AquaCraft Flatty in the Tunnel about 1/4 mile but it got to dark, for one flash light.
The water level was ,say 1/2 way up up the walls, It was a tight fit for the old Aqua. We were told that tunnel went under hwy 49 to Oregon creek
our favorite place to go used to be right across from dark day launch on the left point of the Cove, but our great Government, Closed it for the wild life, We kept saying We were the wild live but the forest ranger booted us out.
Now out favorite beach is Behind Garden point north end of cove, With luck i'll get my Campbell cruiser project done this summer.
