Yes it's a boaters dream. There are more like 4 or five marinas. But I guess you are talking about the two main ones, Waheep and Bullfrog.
Waheep is at the Dam end Bullfrog is at the other end deeper into Utah. I like both tho depends on where your coming from. Waheep I feel is closer to some of the most bad ass canyons. Gunsight is one of my favorites. Gets rough during the open season, although the season is not open yet so it will be empty and smooth if your going soon. Weather can turn to a shit storm in minutes, so be prepared to hunker down away from cliffs. Best place I have ever been. the best times of my life are spent there. Jet ski's are a must to explore the long narrow canyons. IMHO a house boat as a base is the only way to see and enjoy the lake. Otherwise gas is far few and you will spend most of your time driving form a marina to anyplace cool. The lake is like 150 miles long or something. I took two weeks and motored a 50 foot house boat from Waheep to Bullfrog and back. 2500+ in gas last May. Towed a 20 foot inboard and two sea doo's. Worth EVERY PENNY.

There is also Antelope point which rents houseboats also. If your thinking about going this year better get your RSVP in soon it fills up fast. Year before last we could not get a houseboat for August when we called in Feb.

We are trying to plan for 09 actually. I agree that houseboats are the best. If any vacation was offered to me... My choice is always a houseboat trip.

Jason, we did a houseboat there 4 or 5 years ago. The place is bitchen but intimidating. I agree that a personal watercraft is a must. We found small gorge that went a half mile in and was no more than 30 feet wide at the entrance and ended up 8 feet wide with a sandy beach at the end. Wawheep was the marina we went out of and it is a spectatular place. Bring a big boat as the conditions can go to shit in a hurry. Lastly bring a gps as you can get lost. PM me and I can go more into detail about our trip.

I have been told (by southwesterners) that Fall is the best time to visit the lake based on Weather & Boat Traffic. Any Opinions ?

I really like September/October, cooler (80's) water is still at nice temps, not as many people and no mid day monsoons.
