Default Norcal Lakes in the Sierra's

Has anybody taken their "hotboats" up to either Ice House, Union Valley, or Stumpy Meadows up in the Sierra's? Looks like some mighty fine water up there in the mountains.... any problems-issues that you have run into?, noise, speed, etc....

Out of the the three, I would pick union valley. I have never been on it with my boat, but looks big enough to handle a larger boat. I remember seeing a small 24ft cruzier style boat there. The drive up there is very scenic also.

    Default Union valley

Union is the only one , camino cove off of peavine ridge rd off of icehouse rd will get you there ! Only boat there when lake level is up , there are huge rocks that will scare the shit outa you because the water is crystal clear ! Hardly any leo's there and the forest service doesnt know how to test noise , many v drives there in the early summer months

Yes the forest service does not check your Db levels up there but they can tell you to get off the lake if they what to if they think your boat is to loud.
My son in the picture was up there with the Cougar and they told him to get the boat off the lake because it was to loud.
Even with the turbo motor its 102 Db with your foot in it.

Default What they know and what they can PROVE !

I argue this point all the time it usually ends up with telling them you either get your DB meter and cite me or get the fock out the way and harrass someone else !

I agree with what your saying, It happened to me a few times here on Clearlake and told them the same thing.
I remember years ago when I had my Brendella they tried to give me DB ticket for the loud noise it made when the engine grenaded itself in Soda Bay. What a joke, the sheriffs said that people complained about the noise it made.

    Default More Restrictions....

Im sure that the SAE will get together with the APBA or some other 'boater friendly ass-ociation' and make up some kind of noise rule so the that local LEO's can get more funding just like the AMA has done to street biking.... THANK YOU AMA!!!!!

Stumpy Meadows has a speed limit of like 15 or 25 mph. We used to fish only up there. Always wanted to break the rules and ski but never did.

i live near Georgetown about 25 miles from Stumpy meadow .. io thought the lake was 5mph.. i know a buddy of mine put his flatbottom in it once and did a few 70mph passes and bailed fast.. why i dunno.. he said the water looked too nice not too.. .. now Union Valley i have had my old flatty on it before.. i went in the late fall when few were there.. boat was extremely loud but not many there to complain.. only thing that sucked was the altitude .. i needed a re-jet on the carbs .. was like a 80 mph flatty instead of 100 mph.. think i lost like 600-800 rpm running rich..
