Frame powder coated black. Only the cab and doors are original - the bed is all new, as well as the front fenders and hood. Truck was in poor shape to begin with. Good thing they make all of that now! Saved me a BUNCH of bodywork / rust repair.

355, L79 cam, 2.02/1.60 iron heads, Doug's headers, PYPES stainless exhaust, Performer RPM intake, FAST EZ EFI (TBI), DUI HEI distributor, GM serpentine, VintageAir AC/heat, Ron Davis alum radiator / dual fans / Painless controller.

TH700R4 trans, 3.08 rear, 18" wheels, dropped spindles. Specialized power window kit, DynaMat throughout, 20 gal gas tank between rear frame rails. Basecoat/clearcoat 2002 GMC Yukon Garnet Red metallic.

Hellwig Products in Visalia used the truck to prototype their front and rear sway bars for these trucks.

How about an old 84 Big Block Suburban. It is the shop/work truck. It is done in candies, pearls, and chamelion paint.

My '68 GMC 910. Daily use shop truck in the summer months, 250 6cyl, 3 on the tree, radio delete, and the green is the original paint.

I must say that I love the fact that there are so many car nuts, street rodders, and hot rodders on this site as well as boaters!! I wanted to get in on the action here! The white truck is my '53 Chevy "Famous Tater Speed Shop" shop truck. I built it to look like what a late 50's, early 60's shop truck would look like. Camaro subframe with air-ride, Camaro rear, built 350/350 trans. The interior was all done in old burlap potato sacks I found in a warehouse that they were tearing down. That's where I came up with the Famous Tater Speed Shop name! Fun truck.

The Black 48 Ford was my brothers as well as the flat black chevy. He has sold them both but, they we both sweet rides. My family has been building street rods since I was 5...Im now 42! I am looking for my next project since my 53 has been gone for 2 years now. Sold it to a guy in Holland! Just got back from Myrtle Beach SC yesterday for the Run-to-the-Sun Rod Run. Great time!

Thanks for looking guys and gals.

    See ya...

    Tater

I agree, but why aren't most of these hot rodders and street riders driving "Hot Rod" boats? Why do so many people (not everyone) become so "high maintenace" as soon as they hit the water? Just sayin...

Some really cool trucks in this thread btw!!!
