    Default bravo hp ?

Looking to drop a 575sci in my boat. The boat weighs 2800lbs. I have a bravo 1 outdrive. I read somewhere that the bravo is good to 500hp. The stock 575 is 550hp. Should I have concerns with the outdrive holding up? I'm do not want to rebuild my current drive and I'm also looking for hastle free performance. Any thoughts?

I think you will be OK IMO I put 560hp up to a black hawk that's pretty much the same internals besides vertical shaft was weaker then brovo 1 as long as you treat it nice it will be fine

X2 on what neil said, run it and when and when it breaks upgrade to X or XR internals. How long the standard bravo last is all on how the operator treats it

really depends on your style of hull, we have a KT With is a f1 converted to a inboard with a leg, one of them has Bravo1 on it, and thats got a healthy little 5lt that putts out 550+hp an revs around its 9K
And touch wood, we have had no trouble with it, and thats been on there for the last 25 years,
On our other one, we have the Black hawk, witch we put a healthy 6lt with a Lo Blower Weiland 177 that puts out around its 600 hp and torque,
Touch wood on that too, is that we haven't had troubles with this leg either, witch we have revved up the leg to its 9+ Before also..
So its really dependent on what style of hull..
