    Default 1990 Commander 21

just picked up a 90 Commander....needs interior and some TLC for the Gelcoat, but very do-able! im so excited, had it on the water on sunday and she runs great, but the only issue is going into drive, or reverse, the shifting is a little rough, and im new to the mercruiser package, I have the Alpha outdrive, and the 5.0 liter V8. anyone know how to adjust or smooth out the shifting? thanks..JT

Nice looking boat. The first thing I would check is your idle speed, should be around 650-700 RPM in forward gear (in the water under load). If that is not it then check to make sure the shift interrupt is working correctly. The last thing would be lower shift cable adjustment.

If you live near the Bay Area, CA I can PM you a very good interior shop, I just had mine completely done
