Try a 21" 3 blade bow lifting prop first, or for more top speed a 23 may be better. This assumes that you don't have a high altitude drive ratio. Make sure its 1.5 to 1. Dump the 750 vacuum carb and go to either a 750 marine Edelbrock or Holley marine double pumper. You'll have better punch, higher top speed and you won't have to replace the secondary diaphragm when it gets hard and won't open the secondaries fully, at least once a year. As a matter of fact even a 454 I/O will seldom be able to fully open the secondaries with a vacuum 750. Look at the chart in the Holley catalogue. TIMINATOR

In a 3 blade I would go with 15-15 1/2 with a 21 pitch. 4 blade the same and in a 5 blade maybe a 19 pitch. I am thinking that will get you about 4600 to4800 rpm.

is the 4 blade 18p to much for it right now.when i got the boat it did not run and the 3 blade 15x15p prop that was on it was all messed up so i put the 14.5x18p 4 blade on there.

I'd recommend calling a prop guy...try our forum sponsor [email protected] R&R Prop Shop. He's real good at this stuff, plus has a bunch of stuff in stock and even used stuff on the wall. 702-564-7502.
