Default Talon or Daytona ...... your thoughts??

A some you know , I have been looking for a boat the last month or so, countless hours everyday it seems searching forums classified ads just about every online "for sale" site there is and have found two good boats.

I thought I would see what everyone thinks about these two different boats. I still have my eye on the 2004 25' talon with a 525, but I found a 2005 Daytona Eliminator with a Ilmore V10. both run mid 90"s so they are comparable in speed. Both are low hours and in great shape and well taken care of.

Just interested to see what you guys think as to quality, resale value, dependability or anything else you may want to comment on re these two boats.

I look forward to any comments or questions you may have.

    Thanks

Personally not a big fan of the lines in or on a talon but if it were me and i liked both boats it would come down to resale (which looking at what is for sale elim. wins) and what suited my needs. Hope this helps and doesnt make it harder. Good luck with the search!

I like the Talon but do think the Daytona is a much more updated look for sure. Im trying to gauge how much more "saleable " the Ilmore engine is and how much if any it will help resale? I hate being upside down in a purchase......

I've owned a Talon (22') and like the boats, but I'd have to go with the Daytona with the Ilmore. More current looks/motor package and Bob has a big following for his boats when it comes to resale. Just my .02 cents.....

The Daytona does look more current for sure.

Does anyone have good in water both still and action shots of both 25 talons and Eliminators?

    Thanks

Pics are from out 03, no canopies. Love this model. Rock solid and runs hard. Like most cats neither turn too well. I have a few friends with Talons. Great quality but somewhat dated looking and not much room inside. I vote for the Eliminator. My $.02.

I have seen pics of your boat before. very nice. The all white is very clean.

The Daytona Im looking at does not have the scoop on the rear deck. I assume this can be added later? has anyone done this? a big job?

Thanks. Many think it should have some color but the all white is what make it different. For now that all white stays.

I would not add the scoop unless it is needed. Hard to climb over for some and everyone want to use it as a brace. Will not do well if someone pushes hard on it. My buddy with a DCB had his replaced and then repainted after a prior girlfriend cracked the original.

Go with the Daytona...as long as the power plant is in good shape you won't be disapointed. BTW try to get a 26 or 27 the bottom on those is hard to beat.
