Default Casale 10* 15's Left Hand $175 shipped

Like the title says, I have a set of LH (flywheel aft) 10* 15s I'll let go for $175 shipped anywhere in the US. I ran them in a RH application (flywheel forward) and they worked fine, just way to small for my combo. I can get pics, but they're in excellent condition and ya'll know what they look like. Price is firm (unless you wanna pay more ) PM or email [email protected] dot net.
Oh and FWIW, lots of people run LH gears in RH applications. I've done it with no problems either with the box or gears, but YMMV.

I thought RH/LH deal was in referrence to which way the gears make the pro spin? RH driving off the snout or balancer as in circl boats that run RH props or flywheel driven as most drag boats run being left hand. There are some sets of gears that are stamped L.H. only and Steveo told me there is some difference in set up if gears are run opposite what they are stamped. These are more questions than statements.

The gears just change the speed relationship between the motor and prop shaft. Which direction the motor turns is what decides which direction the prop spins. Flywheel forward are generally called right hand, flywheel aft are refered to as LH. My boat is flywheel forward and I generally use RH gears. However, I've also used LH gears, the only difference being if the gears thrust together or apart as they run. This thrusting is not from the prop shaft, that load is carried elsewhere in the box, its just the gear mesh thrusting.
As far as set up, if you run your gears with a fairly tight back lash (.003"-.005"), you should adjust them with ANY set of gears. I run a bit more back lash (generally around .008"-.010") which allows me to run pretty much any set of gears Casale has made. Over the years, I've probably had 20 different sets of gears in the box without ever readjusting the back lash. I check it every time, but it's always been fine. Bottom line, other than the helix directions, no real difference in the gears other than mfg tolerances.
That's how I do it, others may do it differently and that's cool.

    Default Gear designation

Well I did a little research and fly wheel forward is L.H. while driving off the front of the motor, R.H. It refers to the rotational direction of the bottom gear. This applies to the prop you will need and to the way the dogs in prop shaft release (whirlaway) are set up also. You are correct about the change in thrust and I also, have run gears opposite the direction they were stamped with no problems.
