I know a 9.8 can be used on a 10.2 but didn't think there was enough meat on there to mill it down to fit the 9.8.

Sure, that's the difference in the two,, the extra thick flange on the tall deck intake,, but is it worth it to have the manifold machined to fit?

Machining it down from 10.2-9.8 can be done, My t-ram was for a tall deck, but another thing to consider is that you will have to have a spacer made for your distributor, Well I had to on mine.
With Spray there is a way!!!
